“Sarah Palin’s stylist…”

October 25, 2008

As per the Washington (AP) – “Palin stylist draws higher pay then policy adviser” Amy Strozzi, who is famous for her work with ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ has been Palin’s traveling styist. Now get this – according to campaign financial reports she was paid $22,800 for the 1st 2 wks in Oct AND McCains foreign policy advisor was paid $12,550 – WOW! STROZZI WAS PAID 80% MORE THAN THE FOREIGN POLICY ADVISOR — 80%!!!

On top of that in Sept. the Republican National Committee spent about $150K for wardrobe and cosmetics – after Palin joined the ticket!

This is a VERY POWERFUL message and true demonstration that - IMAGE MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

Thoughts?

Thank you Kathryn for forwarding this story to me!

Liquid Eye Liner

October 22, 2008

I love liquid eye liner because it gives such a strong line. I like it on my upper lid – all the way across, thicker on the outside corner and thinner as you get close to the nose. My tip is to use an angled eyeliner brush instead of the applicator that comes with the liner. Using a brush give you so much more control and the line is SO STRAIGHT! It literally is perfect.

Foundation

October 17, 2008

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE make-up. I love trying it on. I love buying it. I love playing…it’s just fun. I am always looking for good ideas and tips. Below are two of my tips:

1. Foundation – For a long time I was using mineral, loose and/or pressed powder and liked the effect of a natural face. But, I have larger pores and needed a little (I mean little) more coverage, so I went back to foundation. The huge difference, and here is the tip, is to use a brush to apply!!!!!!! First, you will use a lot less, which makes it more natural; second, you can really focus on the areas that need attention. Which for me is my chin, nose and apples of my cheeks. The finish is amazing – I have had many of my friends comment on my skin and ask what I am doing to my skin.

2. Highlight for the Eyes – using white on the brow bone (from the arch of your eyebrow out to the outside where the brow ends – on the bone) and then in the inside corner of the eye (surrounding the tear duckt). HUGE difference! Especially the inside corner – it really brightens the eye!

Now I know some of you are going to say “AHH, ya Trish, I have been doing my make-up this way for years!!!”…and I know they are not new techniques, but they are newly adopted (or re-adopted) to me. So now it’s your turn, what tips do you have for me?
